Taking in part in TeensinAI showed me how emerging technology is changing our world.
The experience exposed me to so many different avenues in which AI can be used and gave me the opportunity to use the power of AI to create a product that is able to combat an issue that is important to me.
As exciting as this emerging technology is, I am now aware of how the flaws in our society can penetrate into the way the technology is created — from listening to the frequent talks that were given about AI ethics. Moreover, the experience taught me that in every stage of the development and design process, you should be conscious of the ethics. Your intentions never matter when delivering a service, it’s the effect that the product has on people that matters.
Having partaken in the numerous workshops addressing topics from quantum computing to data science and blockchain, I realised that technology is varied and makes me excited to find my path and the technology that I want to develop.
Overall, the experience was genuinely so special. It’s not every day you get to network with so many highly skilled people and get the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by them. I now know that AI is something that I would love to work with in the future!
